BENEFITS OF HAVING GapCover and CoPay
In most instances medical doctors and specialists charge patients for in hospital services, a higher rate than what is paid by their medical scheme. Gap Cover is an insurance product that protects members against this risk by paying fees up to 5 times/500% what the medical scheme would pay, up to a maximum of R1 000 000.
GapCover will be made available to SACU members at the following lower special rates:
R90 per family per month (normal rate R105)
Many medical schemes have introduced co-payments on certain procedures. Members have to pay these co-payments out of their own pocket. CoPay Cover is an insurance product that insures the member against such risk and pay theses co-payments up to R10 000 per claim, up to an overall annual limit of R50 000, three claims per beneficiary per year.
CoPay will be made available to SACU members at the following lower special rates:
R60 per family per month (normal rate R70)
